2001 explorer transfer case vent tube

Where does the other end of the transfer case vent tube hook to?

Which end are you referring to, the end that connects to the transfer case or the end that vents to the atmosphere?

The only time I would expect fluid to come out of this hose is if the transfer case is over full. I'm not sure if the transfer case uses gear oil or transmission fluid. Is your Explorer full-time AWD or selectable 4WD?
