High-low beam

When I have my high beams on and switch to low beams...the lights cut out for about 1/2 a second then the low beams come on. Is this relay related? And if so what one should I change? Is it easy for a guy who is all thumbs?

Re: High-low beam

Sound like the dimmer switch to switch from low to high is going bad, probably starting to stick. Depending on what year your pickup is will depend on where the switch is located.

Re: High-low beam

One time while driving with dims on...they blanked out for a second and then came back on when I hit a bumpy stretch but this has not happened since. ANother time I switched from bright to dim and the dim never came on until I went bright-dim-bright-dim a few times. Does it still sound like a dimmer switch problem? Also my truck is a 2003.
