The One weirdest thing your DSM has ever done.

That's right, pick one and only one of the weirdest things your DSM has ever done. Here's mine:

Ok, so the night after me and some buddies installed my fmic, I come back home after doing some link tuning. I pulled into my driveway and killed the engine, well, at least tried to. I pulled the key out and the engine is still running,

So I put it back in and out thinking maybe some part of the ignition went weird on me. I follow the ignition wires and everything looks fine. So I decide to get on tuners and see if anyone has had this problem. I turned off my headlights, and the engine shut off. This was me

So I started the car again, took out the key, and it stayed running, again I turned off the headlights and it shuts off. So I followed all the headlight wiring as far as I could and everything seems fine. I'm still absolutely clueless so I look it up on tuners and noone had a clue, go figure. So I figure fuck it I'll just ignore it, it's a DSM. So the next day I told a local DSM wiseman buddy and we looked the car over, everything is fine. The ONLY thing that had changed was the fmic install.

So I took off some piping, when I got to the upper intercooler piping, I looked and saw that it was kind of putting pressure on a wire loom. I moved the loom thinking what the hell, and whaddya know, car worked like it should I can only assume two wires were shorting together or something, I never looked into it because I felt so stupid

Re: The One weirdest thing your DSM has ever done.

That is one of the funnier thing I have read in recent memory.

Lets see, weirdest thing my DSM did was decide it didnt like a rod bearing 3 hours after I finally got it running right.

Re: The One weirdest thing your DSM has ever done.

Lets see.....wierdest thing.. Oh about 3 weeks after I get the motor back together I decide to lower it 2 inches. Put my brand new shocks and springs on it and had it looking sexy as fuck...let me tell you. Then on the way home from school 2 days later I turn left off the main highway onto another road and the damn thing slides all the way across the road and into a field only missing a lightpole by a few inches. Pissed? Hell yea. Screwed up the paint on the front bumper, bent the sway bar (replaced with RM racing one) and I think it fucked the lower control arm on the passenger side....IDK yet...I havn't even felt like taking it apart to look at it. Still don't know why it did that.....stupid dsm's...GOSH!

I had the alarm start going off while I was driving the car. The batteries were dead in my clicker and I didn't know I had a car alarm until that moment. I'm sure it scared the hell out of all the drivers arond me to see all my lights flashing and horn blaring.

Re: The One weirdest thing your DSM has ever done.

Actually, my Cavalier has done way more stupid shit than my Talon. One day at an intersection the fuckin horn goes nuts. Everyone is giving me dirty looks and flicking me off and shit and there was nothing I could do about it. I've never felt so stupid and embarassed in a car in a long time.

LMAO i had the same thing happen to me somewhat. When i was at the hair cut place a alarm starting going off outside and the lady said it was a green car and i said its not mine i do not have a alarm!! 1 minute later still going off i decide to look out the window and it was mine lol Lights and everything going, so i go outside and could not get it to shut off, i got into the car and all of the sudden it stopped. So i left and started driving up the road and the damn alarm started going off again lol. So i pull into mcdonalds and the damn thing still going off, so i decided to goto the passenger side door put the key in and turned the lock and it shut it off. Since my lock on the driverside and door switch did not work it was making it go crazy lol. All fixed now tho

yeah my "alarm" would freak out sometimes. My car had an aftermarket alarm on it, but like twice a year when I would open the door, even after disabling my alarm, it's like there was "another" alarm in the car. It would ONLY beep the horn very annoyingly. My real alarm worked fine, it would still chirp / lock / unlock the doors. Just some phantom alarm

DSM's are phantoms... phantom knock, phantom leaks, and now phantom alarms.

lmao, ain't that the truth! That goes for mine too when I had it, except the bliss lasted only a few days before it started yearning for my mechanic, and decided to go hibernate at his shop (again) for the next few weeks...
