Top 10 Bushisms

Something funny I ran across that I thought I would share.

The Most Stupid Things President George W. Bush Has Ever Said:

10) "Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."
—LaCrosse, Wis., Oct. 18, 2000

9) "I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family."
—Greater Nashua, N.H., Jan. 27, 2000

8) "I hear there's rumors on the Internets that we're going to have a draft."
—second presidential debate, St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 8, 2004

7) "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."
—Saginaw, Mich., Sept. 29, 2000

6) "You work three jobs? … Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that."
—to a divorced mother of three, Omaha, Nebraska, Feb. 4, 2005

5) "Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country."
—Poplar Bluff, Mo., Sept. 6, 2004

4) "They misunderestimated me."
—Bentonville, Ark., Nov. 6, 2000

3) "Rarely is the questioned asked: Is our children learning?"
—Florence, S.C., Jan. 11, 2000

2) "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
—Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004

And drumroll please, the number one most stupid thing bush has said...

1) "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."
—Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 17, 2002

What's really funny is that he got better grades than Clinton did.

Re: Top 10 Bushisms

Clinton was a good president, just morally wrong.
Bush is an idiot.

8) "I hear there's rumors on the Internets that we're going to have a draft."
—second presidential debate, St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 8, 2004

What is so wrong about this one? He might have been publicly denying the draft to reverse the rumors nationwide/internet-wide.

What you should have done was post what he said after that.

Like I said, I came across it.. i.e. another website. I guess what was so funny is that he mentioned "Internet" as being plural, as if there were more than one internet.

Re: Top 10 Bushisms

Bush might not have the swiftest tounge in the world, but thank god we didn't get Gore or Kerry.

Clinton's had some dandy slip ups, although not as funny as Bush but still...

10) "You can't say you love your country and hate your government." - Bill Clinton, 1995 (After the OKC bombing)

9) "A lot of wonderful people love their country and hate the military." - Bill Clinton, 1969 (Letter to the National Guard)

8) "And so, it is important that we are able to forgive those we believe have wronged us even as we ask for forgiveness from people we have wronged. And I heard that first -- first in the civil rights movement. Love thy neighbor as thyself." - I would have hoped a southern baptist would have heard of the 2nd commandment before the civil rights movement.

7) "Just try to imagine what it would be like to be 300 million years old." -- President Clinton in Ashe County, N.C. He was speaking on the banks of the New River, which scientists say is the oldest river in the United States.

6) "No one wants to get this (Lewinsky) matter behind us more than I do, except maybe all the rest of the American people," Bill Clinton, July 31, 1998 during his remarks on the economy in the rose garden.

5) "You know the one thing that's wrong with this country? Everyone gets a chance to have their fair say."
President William Clinton addressing the people of Philadelphia, May 28, 1993 in the Courtyard, City Hall, Philadelphia, PA

4)"I can tell you that the decisions we made, we made because we thought they were in the interests of the American people,"--Bill Clinton, on being asked why he signed waivers, against the Pentagon's protest, to sell Loral missile guidance systems technology to Communist China, enabling China for the first time to launch nuclear weapons.
(May 18, 1998 edition of the Washington Times, front page)

3) "She is here with us today," the president declared, speaking of Halvorsen. "I'd like to ask her to stand."

Gail Halvorsen then stood up - Mr. Gail Halvorsen, a 77-year old grandfather. "Thank you, Sir, " said Clinton. - Lt. Halvorsen dropped candy to kids over Berlin during the war

2) President Clinton was interviewed on January 21, 1998 by Jim Lehrer on his alleged affair with a Whitehouse intern and subsequent alleged subornation of her perjury. Clinton said, "I'm just trying to suppress my natural impulses and get back to work."

Everyone can probably guess this one,
1) "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is"

Re: Top 10 Bushisms

I think Homer on the Simpsons said, "He's a president with a Fox attidude" . I think that quote kinda pretty funny. We should have a top 10 Homerisms, THAT would be hilarious

Re: Top 10 Bushisms

haha, I love the Simposons. They left out one of my favorites, "I'm not going to do that Marge, trying is the first step toward failure."
