I want these!!
I have an Alero GL1 with the 16" (I think) wheels. I BADLY want the 2002 or newer GLS polished wheels. The stealership wants $475 each for them. What do you guys think I can get them for if I find them at a yard?
If you don't know what I'm talking about, here is a link to an Alero GLS on ebay with the wheels: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-CO...QQcmdZViewItem - Jeremy |

Re: I want these!!
Try Car-part.com to search wrecking yards all over the country. You may find a set at a reasonable price.

Re: I want these!!
Why would you want to do that Jeremy? The OEM Alero 6 spokes whether polished or silver are downright ugly. I'd look into better and reasonable priced aftermarkets. I have instructions from my son (off at college) to get rid of his silver 16" wheels and put new tires on. We are looking at various 17" wheels along with V or Z rated Yokohama or Nitto P225/235 - 35 aspect ratio hp tires that match the Goodyear Eagle RSA tires in performance. The RSAa are too expensive at $160 each. Plus the 17" wheels with right tires will get rid of that fender gap.

Re: I want these!!
Can't you just get the regular ones Chromed? But I'd also look into some better aftermarket ones.. 18"

LOL, I don't need no stinking struts.. I only spend on what is needed to get an inspection sticker The new loop I think you're talking about is Beltway 8 (610 is the inner one and older).. But hell the Beltway costs money and in some parts is like a regular road and not a highway.. I haven't a clue how long it is but it's purdy big.. A few years ago I lived on Glenmont and had to move because I worked in Seabrook, lol.. Plus every night down the street would be a flock of hookers.. |

BTW - I'm surprised you spent the $20 plus for a state safety inspection sticker. The Texas annual registration must really piss you off. It is supposed to help take care of our roads but I don't see any difference statewide.

Re: I want these!!
Come to Michigan. Don't need any type of inspection at all for emissions or saftey. Run it till it falls apart, then leave it on the side of the highway. With all the salt on the roads in th winter, that only takes about 8 years.
Makes for some interesting vehicles going down the roads sometimes. Not too uncommon to see the occasional late 70's car with the bumper held on with a bungee cord and a cloud of blue smoke behind it. |
