Heater hose help....

I am looking for the part number for the heater hose that attaches to the intake manifold. Mine is leaking where the hose clips into the fitting on the intake manifold. Anyone know what it is?

Re: Heater hose help....

Go to your local parts house and get a new nipple that will screw in place of that POS coupler GM came up with. Then get a new piece of regular heater hose and you are done. I did mine 3 years ago with no problems

Be careful. If that sucker is even a little corroded, it will break off rather than screw out of the intake. I think the General made them out of pot metal. I ended up having to rethread the intake for a NPT nipple fitting, but mine had corroded alot more than appeared from the outside.

Re: Heater hose help....

yes, i replaced mine about 6 months ago for the same problem. It is pot metal and if it breaks you will have a problem on your hands. Just use some liquid wrench type of products and go slow. The part is about $10. It has the plastic clip, washer and metal housing. The hose does not come with it. It is most likely the o-ring washing inside the housing. No part number since you do not mention what type of vheical. Get the part from a dealer.

Yep that works better and is a whole lot cheaper than buying the replacement part from GM that was not to great in the first place in my opinion and is easier to get off to back flush your heater core.
