97 Grand Prix Service Engine Light
I just had my service engine light come on my '97 grand prix gtp with 103,000 miles. Last time this happened (about 15-20k miles ago) I took it in to have it diagnosed and it was a bad spark plug wire and a bad ignition coil.I thus replaced the spark plugs , the spark plug wires and the bad ignition coil.
The car is running just a little rough now with some black smoke coming out of the exhaust and I was wondering if this could be one of the other 2 ignition coils gone bad. Thanks Last edited by MIKE66G; 10-07-2006 at 10:17 PM.

Your best bet is to take it to Advance or Aut-Zone and have it scanned for free, then post the resulting codes here. Don't guess it's another coil issue until you know what tripped the CEL.
