Red face 1997 Bravada display panel

Hello all. I just bought a 1997 Bravada and am learning about all of the bells and whistles it has on it. It is in great shape and runs like a dream. My question is about the digital panel on the roof that shows the temperature, mpg, etc. Is there some instructions on how to use this somewhere? I'm not 100% sure what they all mean, and if they can be reset.
Thanks in advance. It seems like there are alot of smart people out there in Bravada land.

Re: 1997 Bravada display panel

The info starts on page 2-36 of the Owners Manual.
I set the US/MET(metric) button on US.
I push the 2nd button until AVG. ECON....average fuel economy, shows up and I leave it there for my load leveler to see and hopefully she'll check it every once in a while making her rounds.

Thanks Chris, I didn't get an owners manual. Being almost 10 years old, I didn't even get the keyless remotes, so I am shopping for some deals on some parts. The console shows 'range'. Is this the expected distance I can go on the current tank of gas? Also, can I reset the one that I suspect means the trip distance? If so, how?

Re: 1997 Bravada display panel

From the manual,
"To reset the trip computer, press the MODE and US/MET buttons simultaneously for at least 2 seconds. All functions will be displayed for a half a second once the system is reset. Reset can only be performed in the AVG ECON,FUEL USED and AVG SPEED modes. All three modes are reset simultaneously."

Thumbs up Re: 1997 Bravada display panel

You're welcome but everybody here has answers and recommends...you will too in due time as you learn more about our Bravadas.
Since Bravadas aren't being built anymore, the parts supply will get scarce in a few years and we'll have get pretty creative about keeping them going. Hopefully by that time, our Bravadas will only serve limited duties, like going when nothing else will get there.

I have a problem with my compass on the display panel, it always stays at (C) it think its for calibration, I have done the 3 right hand turns in a 360 degree at 5 miles hr, and it sets correctly but as soon as I turn the car off it goes back to (C) . is their something wrong with it? I have a 1997 bravada and I live in Ohio. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Re: 1997 Bravada display panel

Press the MODE button until COMP/TEMP is displayed then press the MODE and US/MET buttons simultaneously. After about 10 seconds, the display should display C and you can release the buttons. Do the 3-360's at less than 5mph and see if it works normally.
