Gas Gauge Erratic

I have a 2003 Ford F350 Diesel 7.3 Crew cab ,with a 38 Gallon tank.

My Problem is my Gas gauge has been very erratic lately . About 5 months ago it was stuck on full for 2 to 3 weeks , then started working again. With in the past 2 weeks it will drop to empty on me. It will work if i shut the truck off and restart it. Seems like it may be having a poor connection. Sending Unit i do not think is the problem. Just wondering is anyone has ran into a situation like this?

Re: Gas Gauge Erratic

Check your ground for the sending unit. The sending unit works on resistance ground the wire to the sending while someone watches the gage. If it goes to full it should be the sending unit.
