how many miles

No problems, just wanted to see how many miles you guys are racking up on your cars. Mine is a '97 5 speed and I have 189K on it. I was just wondering how many miles I could expect to get before the engine lets go. I use synthetic oil and it doesn't have the "tic" that you hear on some Cavaliers. I get 30-34 mpg and it seems fine. I just wonder if I should keep taking 800 mile road trips in it.

I have a 1997 Z24 Auto with 144Km's on it Compared to most cavaliers and sunfires i have noticed that mine has really low km's even my friends 02 has more than mine LOL

There are a couple thread like this floating around already but oh well, I have a 99 z24 5spd and put on 205,000 before I blew the engine only because I ran out of oil lol. So as long as you keep up the maintence you should be ok for at least another 50K

I have a 97, 2.2, 5 speed with 245,000. Still has original clutch and motor, does not use a drop of oil and still runs excellent. Only a few minor things have went wrong with her, nothin major - knock on wood, lol.

03 with ~37ooo Miles. No problems yet, that i didnt force on my own. Hope the engine lasts as long as they say it will. =D

99 2.2 w/ 93,000 miles. only thing replaced was the valve cover gasket(twice)and a/c compressor.

245,000 miles on the factory clutch is VERY hard to believe, especially when the average clutch only lasts about 75,000


as for me, ive got a 98 2.2 with 101,000 on it, the cars a pile of shit but the engine still runs great

I'm amazed myself that its lasted this long I always thought if the car ever made it to this high mileage, the clutch and motor possibly would need to be replaced, but both are original. I've been very fortunate, she's been a good car

I've got a 2003 2-door 5-speed, 98,000km (60,000mi) and it runs like it did when I drove it off the lot.

I have a 97 - Z22 just turned 300,000 KM still runs great. New cluch put in about 275,000 km. No other work done to it

99 cav 2.2l ---- 59,355 miles. Still looks brand new body wise, minus undercarrage due to a couple NY winters. But still very little rust under there, and you could eat off my engine. No lie....



I just never drive the car....

1999 2.2l 4speed auto. 58,000 on the engine and 130,000 on the trany. No rust anywhere, a few dents but fixen em' soon.

1997 Cav 2.2. Blew one engine and one trans. due to constant, daily abuse. It's got around 145,000 miles on it. Now have about 71k on the 3400 under the hood.
