A few custom touches to the Firebird...
Well, I was sick of my stupid Aiwa CD player in the Firebird skipping all the time and never spitting out cds unless you punched the faceplate. It was quite an embarassment on dates and such since I am Talon-less... Sooo... I got the great idea to put the Monsoon unit in from a 2001 Trans Am. Now I've seen everybody do the headunits from newer Camaros and other GM vehicles but I thought they were gay looking and wanted something to better match my stock appearance. Naturally, Pontiac vehicles have always carried about the same style of headunits so I picked one up on Ebay and I must say its amazing! It completely blew away any stock and most aftermarket headunits I have ever heard because it has a built in amp. (I think it might even throw up a good fight with my Alpine system in the Talon.)
The guy I bought it from must have not known he left some rap cd in there. As soon as I plugged it in and turned the key that shit kicked on and scared the crap out of me. It sounded like I had subs in the Firebird again! I'm not joking or exaggerating on this one, I couldn't believe how much bass it was putting out of my Rockford 6x9's! Anyways, its great but now the rest of the interior looks like ass because my center console is all busted and shit. To get a replacement console lid was going to be over 200 new, over 100 used. I said screw that and I picked up an entire center console out of an 01 Trans Am for 75 bucks and am gonna try to transplant it into my car... Should be interesting but should be well worth it if I can get it to work... Here's the pictures for the moment until I get my new center console here. This is the old gay Aiwa that stuck out of the dash about 2 inches and looked horrible... ![]() Here's my new Monsoon! ![]() Here is the overall interior... You can see where my console is taped together for the moment. lol Theres also my old intake parts on the passenger floor. I need to get a picture of my new one I made!

Here is the short ram intake I made too...
Old stock intake, very restrictive... ![]() New intake that suchs so much air it sounds like a massive vaccum leak on a DSM. lol ![]() Ya see that guys? Tons of room for me to do my turbo and piping in there next spring... Hehe...

Re: A few custom touches to the Firebird...
So I just received my new 4th gen console today and will probably be working on that this next week...
Here is the new one... ![]() And of course the old one... ![]() I can't wait to get it in there, although I'm sure it won't be a simple bolt in and go mod... Wish me luck.

Re: A few custom touches to the Firebird...
Ha ha, that console shit is fun huh. My buddy Mike was going to make a fiberglass one for his old Talon. That old one is pretty gay looking, good luck on the install.
