Re: Help ME!!!

Sensors? hehe....there are several:

Crankshaft Position Sensor
Throttle Position Sensor
Coolant Temp Sensor
Camshaft Sensor/Camshaft Interuptor magnet
Intake air temp sensor
Mass air flow sensor
oxygen sensor

And other electronics:

Ignition Control Module
Coils
Idle Air Control valve
Engine Control Module

Theres more, I'm sure. What I'm getting at is there are way too many sensors to tell what you are talking about and that one sensor may be harder to diagnose/replace than another. Soo....we need either diagnostic codes or symptoms or what the mechanic told you.

As for overheating, you probably need a new coolant temperature sensor, a new 180* thermostat, and probably a coolant flush. There could be other factors causing it to overheat....but we would need more information to know.

Re: Help ME!!!

perhaps the engine coolant temperature sensor is what your mechanic was refering to? Take the car to autozone, o'riellys, advanced..etc and ask them to scan your car for trouble codes (for all of these stores this is a free service). They can point you in the right direction so you'll know what the actual problem is and then you wont have to worry about getting ripped off at the shop.
BTW, welcome to the Automotive Forums!
