Smile 95 Jimmy's

I know im not usually in this forum area (because i now own a grand prix) before i bought my car i had a 95' Jimmy. And dont get me wrong it was a nice car but i just started having problems with the tranny. So i was wondering if anyone out in the forum has a 95' (or around that year) jimmy and is experiencing the same problem with the tranny. It would make a high pitched squeal when it was in drive and reverse but no noise when in park. So if you had or have this problem please resond back because i (and my boyfriend) tried everything to fix it.

Thanks ~

Sounds like one of the bands are shredding. Probably will require a complete rebuild..

Re: 95 Jimmy's

we tried everything to fix it, changed the tranny fluid (it didnt work), we tried so much stuff to silence it we even went as far as pouring "mechanic in a can" and that didnt seem to do anything. But i managed to sell it and now i dont have to worry about it anymore. That was a huge headache!!!

Exclamation Re: 95 Jimmy's

I had to have my '95 tranny rebuilt at about 160K miles. 4X4, so it cost me about $1600. Mine was making "some" whining noise, then started to slip in 1st gear really bad. From what I have learned on this forum, '93-'95 had a LOT of various problems. Whoever bought it is looking at a rebuild.
