brake light mystery

I just found out that the passenger lights of my windstar 96 doesn't work anymore. weird thing is when I used my keyless remote I saw that the brake light works confirming that the bulb is not yet busted. i heard from a friend that the bulb might have 2 filaments. can somebody confirm this? I've been using my keyless remote for 2 years now that means that a wrong wiring connection is not an issue. can somebody enlighten me on this problem?

I would be willing to bet that your buld (filament) for your brake light is burnt out. I think what you're seeing with your keyless remote is the tail light. Pull your rear tail light off and replace the bulb.
