Loud Hum & Clicking

I have an extremely loud hum and click from the drivers side front and roars louder and louder and clicks. It had a slight hum for a few weeks and now it is so loud I can barely hear myself think! Roaring and clicking!!! Any ideas?

How can you hear it? J/K

I'm thinking possibly a front wheel bearing, does it get louder if you turn left or right? Another possibility is maybe a u-joint. They click or squeek, but I don't think I've heard them hum. I'm guessing it gets louder, faster clicking with speed. That would lead me to believe wheel bearing or a brake/caliper problem.

Re: Loud Hum & Clicking

Look at the hub (larger tires), brakes, CV axle (boot ripped and grease all over),the front diff gear oil and bearings, and transfer case fluid to start. Jack up under the lower control arm so the CV is not binding and rotate the hub and listen and pull at 12 and 6 position and see if bearing play (watch the inside by the CV for play and not tierod play).
