93 vr4 leak
i have a 93 vr4. 3 months ago, mitsubishi put in a new transfer case because it locked up and bc of the recall. last couple of weeks looks like my transmission is leaking? are there seals that leak? i put it up on a lift but all we could really tell is that it looks like the green rectangular thing close to the wheel is leaking and running down the trans. but it smells like gear oil not regular oil??? any suggestions on what to do or common problems like this?

Re: 93 vr4 leak
there are only a few places the transmission can leak from. what your describing (the green thing on the axle), would lead me to think that it is leaking from where the axle goes into the differential. there is a seal, one on each side of the differential. there is also another seal at the output shaft. and lastly, check your tranny drain plug and fill plug.
