4G Rockford Fosgate Sound System Aux
First timer.
I have some friends that know how to install an aux input for an ipod through a head unit if it supports it. They use a method involving opening up the dash to connect a two-way cable with jacks into the head unit. I was wondering if the rockford fosgate head unit has that capability, how it will affect my warranty, and if there are alternative options for digital input (not radio transmitter). This car is leased, so also is there a way to keep it hidden or reverse the process? |

Re: 4G Rockford Fosgate Sound System Aux
Well...assuming the head unit has an aux in, then yes you can connect any external mp3 player to it. Simply saying it's a rockford fostgate head unit is pretty useless because you dont list a model number or anything (unless they only make 1 HU, in which case they are a crappy company and I wouldnt buy it). As for reversing the process...if you have your factory HU pass code then you can do anything you want to your sound system as long as you replace everything to factory when your lease is up (unless it specificly states otherwise in your lease contract).

To answer, No.
The Fosgate Stereo that comes stock with your eclipse has an aux in... somewhere. The problem is Mitsubishi has never gotten around to making the part to interface with the stereo. You can search for it and find it, but mitsubishi will tell you the part is still under development. You're dealing with an OEM system with amplifiers, which suck. Best thing I could say is go with an fm transmitter or have people who really understand that proprietary stereo hook it up. you wont just find RCA plugs hiding out. |
