Have you seen it? The "2007 Hyundai Tiburon"? I saw some pictures of it from a recent auto show overseas, and uhm... All i have to say about it is... wtf?

I will say it has a nice rear end to it. The taillights, exhaust, just reworked rear -- its nice. The headlights having been raked out are very nice. The fact that the alleged "gills" are functional is a nice treat as well.. The rims arent bad either.

Then you see the horrendous new body line that bisects the front wheel well as a result of the gill... and the flattened-out hood... and that wretched-looking scoop, and that godawful lower grill... and it makes you wonder what Hyundai's doing

Admittedly, I saw a picture of a widebody '07 from the tokyo autoshow that made me ask myself if it would be morally correct to mate with a vehicle, this still doesn't redeem Hyundai for this atrocity of a tiburon.

Now while im sure the "reworked interior" is great -- people driving by wont be staring, theyll be laughing...

I was talking to a Hyundai tech at a show last weekend. Hyundai is secretive about the Tib. You never know until they actually arrive at the dealership. I've seen some spy shots my self, not sure if I like it or not. I'll have to see it in person.

Don't know. Rumor has it that the 08 will have rear wheel drive and more HP.

The '07s were slated to go into production Sept 1st, 2006. I have heard that it was slightly delayed. But who knows. It usually takes a few months after production starts for the first ones to hit the showrooms anyways. Gotta build up enough inventory to send to all the dealers worldwide around the same time.

The '09s, if they are even going to still be called the Tiburon, are scheduled to go into production really late in 2008. It will be a completely different car.

This is what Hyundai told me in a meeting when I was in Korea back in July, so I'd hope it's somewhat reliable information.

Not even close. That's the HCD-8 concept car that was developed a couple years ago. Your pics even have HCD8 in their filenames.

Ive stumbled upon a new, more up-to-date picture of the Tiburon, and im rather pleasently surprised. Its only a front view, but its sufficient. I believe it to be fairly accurate, as the source I recieved it from posted it on 10-30-06. Even in the file name.

It kinda almost looks like Toyota decided to play a Mix-N-Match game with the Scion TC and Toyota Yaris, but it kinda also almost has an Evo X feel to it... take a look for yourself

cutthroat--correct me if I'm wrong but that looks like the Hyundai Arnejs concept. It's definitely not a Tib.

peach and snowhand posted a correct link to a pic of the '07-'08 Tib. That is what you will see for the '07 model year.

cutthroat, whatever that is in the pic you posted, it's not the '07 Tib. If you watch the promo video from the website you got that pic from, it shows the correct '07/'08 Tib.

I was in Korea with Hyundai in July. They showed us a couple pics of the '09, and from what I remember, is doesn't look like the HCD-8, or whatever that is that cutthroat posted. They showed us pics, but went through them real fast, so I didn't get a good look at them. Maybe if there was a side picture of whatever cutthroat posted, I might be able to tell, because I got a better look at the side view than I did of the front. They might not even call it the Tib or Tuscani come '09, so who knows. It is a completely different car, and with as much as Hyundai changes names, and coming out with new models, it's hard to say what they are going to do 2 years from now.

Yep, that silver-blue one above is the Arnejs concept. Similar to the Kia Cee'd concept.
