Re: tranny shifting hard
This shoud be scanned for trans codes to start out with, an ordinary scanner will not pick up some of these codes, though. There are some common issues with this trans but the codes are necessary, if any, to proceed.

Re: tranny shifting hard
It sounds like the ever-common pressure control solenoid, but get it scanned to be sure at your GM dealer.

Re: tranny shifting hard
try lube-guard (Napa) ~$13 + you need to remove some of that tranny fluid due to the LubeGuard replacement. Did that guy clean out the tranny pan sludge = that's why you do it yourself. Try manually shifting it some and see if that helps. Hopefully the problem will go away, if not you need to go to a GM dealer to get those tranny codes read (as said before).
Go thru your Intrigue owner's manual for the correct tranny fluid height. Use that procedure and make sure the fluid height is correct = your's may be low (not enough fluid). |

Re: tranny shifting hard
Not necessary to go to the dealer, our Snap -On mtg2500 scanner with the trans cartridge will do bi -directional testing and scan trans functions, many independents have this unit, key here is how good are the people using it.

Quote:
Look for a stored DTC of P1811 (Maximum Adapt and Long Shift) to confirm a possible flaky PCS solenoid. Does not trigger a SES/CEL light.
