Wiper arm removal
Folks, I need some help. ('99 Durango).
I need to remove the front wiper arms (NOT the blade, but the entire arm at the pivot point). There is a plastic cap that pops off, then a metric nut that threads off. After that, seems like the arm should come off the splined shaft, but of course it won't budge. Is there any trick to getting this off? Is there another hidden pin or clip or anything? Do you pry it off with a screwdriver blade?(Doesn't really seem to be a way to do this because there's nothing to pry against except a plastic shroud for the air intake). Do you whack the end of the pivot shaft with a BFH? Any advice from anyone? Thanks Dave Westminster, MD USA |

Re: Wiper arm removal
heat the spline with a hair drier then hit the arm just by the hinge on the arm and work it back and forth and kind of lift the arm completely and work it side to side it does eventually come off just the splines are stuck to the pivots add a little grease when reinstalling them
