Exclamation Gas pedal clicks when pressed after electrical problems

I know the title makes no sense but I was changing a bulb (9006) and after I changed the bulb the light went off. I thought it was the wiring but when I closed the hood again it went back on so there must have been a bad connection in the bulb's wiring. So my car is on now...it starts to go nuts. RPM, Speedo needle jump up and down and car lights start to dim and cant shift from park.
Anyways the bulb I changed went out again and thought it was the battery, I reved the engine to 2k to recharge and see if that works and the engine stalled.
I eventually got another bulb and now everything works fine, and I thought it might be the battery but I checked it with a volt meter it showed 13v.
However, for some reason my gas pedal clicks when pressed, I noticed this before it stalled (must have been a short in the pos bulb). I.e 1st click it jumps to 1500+ 4 more clicks im going 60mph. It makes a clicking noise and I can feel it in my foot and it's annoying though it can be used as cruise control.
Anyone have an Idea wtf that is? Haynes manual has nothing on this nor did forum search help. Feels like the car trying to tell me something, but the tranny and service engine lights were off through the whole ordeal.
Appreciate any help.

Cartalk.com shows a decent mechanic in my area with good reviews but I wanna know what the hell I'm dealing with before I go.

P.S At work (valet parking) my friend was watching DVD in his Lexus IS300 and his battery died (went down to 11.9v). I gave him a boost but before I did my battery was 14.45v. Now it's down to 13v that pisses me off. Is it ok to still listen to the radio while car is off like I used to? Should I get a new battery?

I cannot give you any help with clicking. It does sound weird.

But what I have noticed:

According to my knowledge - battery should have 12.4 volts when car is not running. When car is running you should get 14.6 volts. This is the alternator voltage.
It could be your alternator that gives you problems.

Re: Gas pedal clicks when pressed after electrical problems

I had a 91 Accord that had a bad alternator and at first, my power had fluctuated and I thought it was weird. But for me, my alternater completely died while I was going 60 mph on the highway. I couldn't accelerate, my pedal made some weird clicking sound, and all my needles and lights went dead although the motor still ran. As I slowed down, my engine cut off and I pulled over.

YOur symptoms seem similar to mine but it seems like your alternater has not completely gone yet.

Have your battery checked at a shop first and then if your battery is ok, it may be your alternater.

Of course I checked it when the car was off (14.45 before and 13v now). If I check it after I rev the engine and then turn car off..it goes from 17v and slowly drops back to 13 now which is normal I think.

Thanks for the story. I have to replace the battery on my volt meter as it shows batt low so it can't be accurate now. But if I should get 14.6 +/- when the car is on it means the alternator is fine right? There is also some rust around my alternator but that's normal after 11 years right I guess.

Anyone know of the emissions warranty extension for hondas 95-97 under 150k miles? How do you go about getting it?

As far as I know it should not fluctuate. 17 volts is too much!
It is definately your alternator!

Take your car to any automotive store. They will test it for free.
