Getting a deck will help?

Hi, i have a 1991 chevy astro and i recently replaced the 2 stock dash speakers and rear stock door speakers because they all blew. So anyways i ended up buying these speakers: http://www.xplodsony.com/xplod/speakers/XS-V1642A
they are pretty good but i not thaat good. My main problems are that the bass is too distintive its not very smooth (on some songs the bass notes kinda sound like someone is banging on the dash) aswell it isnt really clear if i turn them very loud. I just wanted to know if adding a deck will fix these problems. I know it will sound better but will it be a noticable difference?
The decks i was looking at are:

http://www.xplodsony.com/xplod/headunits/CDX-GT400

I was thinking about sticking with a sony deck since i have sony speakers. and plus these decks have a remote which i want.

Thank in advance.

Re: Getting a deck will help?

If you're using a factory deck right now, a new deck should help with the sound quality

Re: Getting a deck will help?

I would highly recommend you look at some other brands. Pioneer is good, Alpine is good. A new head unit will help you somewhat, but you really should have an amplifier. Sony speakers are hardly worth spending the money for an amp though. Get a decent quality head unit, then if you aren't satisfied, consider at least a good set of component speakers (separate midbass driver and tweeter) and an amp.

Re: Getting a deck will help?

1) never look at anything sony again. period. unless you're planning a bonfire...then you can look.
2) a head unit will process the sound better, which is what you're asking for.
3) keeping with the same company as the speakers doesn't mean anything.
4) Almost all manufacturers have remote controls with their head units nowadays. Look for Alpine, Clarion, and Eclipse. don't skimp out on the deck, get a decent one, not some DUAL or Sony.
