Ball joint removal

What is the procedure to replace a ball joint on a 1991 LeBaron?

here go.. disconnect the stabilizer bar from the control arm.. then remove the front and rear pivot bolts from the control arm.. undo the balljoint pinch clamp bolt from the steering knuckle.. and pull the balljoint straight down.. (might need a prybar).. should separate.

Dont move the steering knuckle assembly out or you might split the inner CV joint

Re assemble is opposite of removal.. BUT.. dont tighten the pivot bolts until the car is at its normal ride height you need to let the car off the jack to do this and tighten the pivot bolts when car settles itself..

Its not really that hard look 1st and take yer time.

If its the tie rod end.. i cheat.. spray some white paint on the threads or whatever as a marker at the end of the tie rod where it screws onto the steering rack.. use a couple of wrenches to unscrew it.. count the turns off.. loosen the nut on the top of the tie rod.. use a splitter to split from control arm.. remove nut.. remove tie rod.. replace.. count turns on using wrenches if needed (use sprayed paint or what ever as a stop guide).. push rod through hole.. add nut tighten down..

Again.. not hard look 1st and just take yer time

you should be close to tolerances if you take it to a shop for alignment..
