Installing Drfit Rear Bumper?

Ok I just got a drift rear bumper for my 2002 Cavalier LS and the company i bought it from said if would fit a 95-02.. when comparing it to my old stock bumper it seems alot bigger but this might be because its alot stiffer then my stock one is and hasn't really been formed yet. I was wondering if anyone else has installed a drift rear bumper on ther cavalier??.. also do i need to modify the stock rear bumper support or the ruber support guard or do I need to remove the rubber guard off the metal rear support? Or do i need to buy a custume bumper support to replace the stock one?? I've cut the crap out of the back end to try and get this thing to fit properly over my rear bumper support with the rubber still intact. I have one to replace it with if I have to go back stock but I dont see this thing fitting on the back of the car with out modifing the stock stuff. when i got the drift bumper it had a notch in it almost like if it was for the tail pipe but later i realised that it was a diagram to cut the bottum of the bumper a bit or at least that what i've seen on other cars with the same drift kit. Anyways if anyone could give me some info or point me in the right direction maybe with some installation guids?? I work for a body shop and i've never seen anything like im almost to the point of replacing it with a diffrent bumper.. so far i have a blitz front bumper and drift side skirts not sure what else would look goood in the back.

Re: Installing Drfit Rear Bumper?

Derk the one guy on here just bought a drift kit and is in the middle of installing it on his cavy. so wait until he posts on here with his advice. You should of just went with the Drift kit all the way around instead of using the Blitz from bumper.

um shiz... cuz i've had some really bad luck with getting hit lately i've been hit 3 times twice in the back and once in the front.. are u sure thers not suposed to be any support in the back?? becaue your right if i get tanked in the back that the end of my car theyd go straight thro the trunk lol... can u verifie this?? I might just wont to get a diffrent bumper. ANy sugesstions? on a bumper that would go with a blitz front and drfit side skirts?? the reason i went with blitz front and drift back and sides is because i've seen it done before and it looks very nice not may peopel do this but damn if im going to take both the rubber and the metal support out lol.. but this would explain why you can see it hanging out at the bottum huh??

02 and 03 ls sport bumpers look totally different from each other, and if you're worried about the support in the bumper, maybe you wouldnt have to remove it with an 03+ bumper, and they almost look like body kits as well. You could spend the money on another aftermarket bumper and be stuck with the same problem.
