Post My vent for the day...

Today I went to my local Jeep Dealership to buy the bracket and the coolant resivior. Last time I went, I bought the tank for $45 or so, so I came in with close to that amount. I get there, talk to my usual guy, and he says it's $68 for the tank and then $10 for the bracket!!!!!!!!!! I'm like WTF! Las time I bought one from here it was like $45. And he's like, I haven't sold one of those in years . I'm like, I just bought one not too long ago. He said if I come back to buy it to talk to him bc he'll get me it for $55, I guess the dealer price. Plus they got to ship the bracket in from Detroit, so it would take a couple days to get here then too. So I left and decided to look into those universal tanks and then mount it elsewhere, but decided against that. I found a tank on ebay for $35, so I may just do that. I was willing to support my dealer, but they got to raise prices or some shit.

Plus he said there's a 96 model tank too that's different. Is that true?

Re: My vent for the day...

If you had just recently bought the same thing, why do you have to buy another one?

Re: My vent for the day...

When I bought the car the overflow tank was on the pulley, so it grinded a hole in it. It was also leaking on the inside where the bracket is. I patched up both side of the tank but then it wouldn't fit the bracket. So I cut the bracket. Eventually, the tank just took a shit and I bought a new one from the dealer. Since the bracket was cut now, the new tank didn't fit that great and no matter what I did, it ended up grinding up on the pulley and now that one has a hole in it too. So I want a new one, and a new bracket.

The tanks are the same in all 95-99's... I think it might even be the same tank on the avengers too?... Thats ridiculous... I usually support my local dealer cause I know the parts guy and always get shit at cost. I love it. lol
