97 S10 oxygen sensor code on. accurate?
Some times the codes are not always right,,
the sensor is most likely bad? for sure bad? or search for a vacuum leak? |

9 out of 10 times it is going to be the sensor, but if you want to find out for sure you can swith one of the sensors. If it is a V6 it will have 4 O2 sensors. if the code changes it is the O2 sensor.

if i'm not mistaken, those are the codes for the catalyst monitor(after cat o2 sensor). usually when it sets a code of no activity(P0146), the sensor is bad, same if it sets a code for heater circuit malf.(P0147). If the wiring leading up to the sensor looks ok, then replace the sensor.

dont switch the o2s around, they are very spicific as to where they go, they do not all work the same, if you put one in the wrong spot you can fry the moter
