question about 5spd

I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the 5spd handle off, so I can put a new one on?? I bought a handle from bravarian auto, but dont know how to remove the old handle and install...any help would be appreciative.

do you mean the shift knob? bmws are wierd. they "clip" on. to take it off, you have to pull it straight off. becareful not to hit yourself in the head. you have to pull pretty hard.
