A Thought: Domestic and Proteges

I was researching into the new 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege, Turbocharged, 170 HP, 17' Racinghart wheels, and unrivaled suspension. It's said to be compared with that of the WRX and the unreleased Lancer Evo VIII. Its gonna be the best car in performance and overall once released. Its proven to beat an Integra Type - R in stock trim and runs about 20,000 bills. Sucks that only about 1,750 units will be realeased in the U.S. For you domestic heads saying all that "My cobra bla bla bla ; German enginer....bla bla bla. Your cars are just loud, waste gas, and cant corner for s$it. Thats not right. Wow, its fast in a straight line...whoop-dee-do. If your cars cant compare to the WRX and especially the Lancer Evos, its a loud ass peice of shit. REAL racing involves turns and what not. Theres other ways of being loud and wasting gas, you could set a tank of gas on fire and scream. I'm not prejudice against domestics, Focus is a great car and all, but loud ass, gas wasting, peices of shit are not to be compared with the likes of superior rally cars and other imports that can drift the hell out of your gas wasting domestics. The suspension of the cobra V.S. the Protege'(remember, this ones a tubocharged 170 crank HP) is like shit V.S. chocolate. Thats all.

Ayyo, I'm getting Mazdaspeed Protege also. But I am thinking of REALLY racing with this car. I know it will be pretty fucken fast stock, but I need to hook it up. I mean, why get an import if you don't even rice it! But I don't know, cuz I don't know how to tune it. What should I get after that to make it at least 200 bhp. Preferably, I would like around 300 hp, but I am not so sure if the Protege can do that. I am thinking of carbon-fibering out a lot, getting the car lowered a little bit, changing the lights, and put in engine mods that will make it go as faster than a stock Acura RSX Type S. Where do I find these mods?

Your an idiot. "shit vs. chocolate"? what the hell is that?

A cobra can be made to out handle any piece of rice you want to put it up against, and it wil blow it away in the corners, straight, anywhere, anytime, anyday. Pull your head out of your ass.

It takes fuel to make horsepower, thats why domestic uses fuel, because they make more POWER>>>

Sick of this!

one thing...

FORD DOES NOT OWN MAZDA!

However, ford and mazda do have somewhat of a partnership. The main reason why mazda decided to become a partner with ford is because mazda did not feel like creating a plant here in the US, like honda did with their acura plant, to relieve the high import taxes we have. So instead they decided to team with ford and share a plant... nowadays, there are some ford parts in mazda cars, and the mazda tribute/b-series which are all ford, but some cars are all mazda as the rotaries and proteges/3. Also mazda still has it's own full japanese product line of cars.

so there you go...

Just one more thing for the ford guys to know, nowadays the only things that go bad on mazdas are ford parts. It's true, I am currently going to school to become a ford master technician and am working at a mazda dealership for my apprenticeship. I see ford crap go bad all the time.

Oh and also for the ford guys, mazda had a hand in creating the new 2005 mustang.

Peace!

Re: A Thought: Domestic and Proteges

Mach and bboy, you are both biased to what kind of cars you like. The domestic vs. foreign argument is based on generalizations and trends. Ultimately, both have pros and cons and there is no way to conclusively say which is better.

mazdaspeed protege.

i bought a mazdaspeed protege just yeaterday, sunlight silver 2003.5, now "fast as shit stock" is a slight overstatement. obviously i'm not being biased for domestics because i own a mazdaspeed. now, i used to drive a G35 infiniti, there is no doubt in my mind, that the MSP will outperform the G35 in handling any day. anyway the point is, if you want a fast car in a straight line, buy an SRT-4. shit if i wanted a drag racing car, that would have definately been my purchase. however, it takes a real man to beat someone in a race that has to do with obstacles such as turns. show me an SRT-4, and a nice curvy road? and it's bye-bye chrystler. it's not fast as shit, but it definately gets up there, and it handles like a wet dream. IMO... GET ONE!

If you want to handle turns, go get a RX8 or a S2000. But IMO, the imports are definetly faster than domestic. There are a lot more mods for imports and import cars are easier to mod, with every little mod comes with a lot more hp compared to a modded domestic car.

This is basically me, unadulterated.

My only quibbles is that they should have kept the Protege instead of ripping off BMW with the number system (Mazda 6, Mazda 3, etc.) and they should have made the Protege AWD (like all the Proteges in Japan) and added about 50 more horses. That's all I have to say.

Re: A Thought: Domestic and Proteges

Ok, mustangs are made for the average american who wants a big engine for a little price. When you buy a mustang, you are paying for the engine, not the handling. However, when you buy an import, the engine doesn't cost much, so more money is available for suspension parts. Ford keeps making the damn car and they won't make it better because people keep buying it. People are not, however, buying proteges because they are too busy buying mustangs. So, more power is needed, hence the turbo. Since it's still on a cheap 4 cylinder, the price is still low.

I just found this randomly on here, and yes ford does own controlling interest in mazda. and the only thing goin bad on a mazdas is ford parts is total bullshit. i just had my protege at the dealer because of a defective intake which is all mazda and all japanese. there is another protege there for the exact same problem, they're both 2003's. people need to stop being ignorant and assuming american brands are of poor quality compared to japanese. that was a true a decade ago but anymore they're all abou the same. all mazda had to with the new mustang is the factory they're building it at. the mazda 6 and ford mustang are built in the same plant, in the united states, as far as i know that is all mazda has to do with it, if u read this and you could find me a link or somethin to show me otherwise it would be appreciated.
