Anti Theft Problem

Hi everyone Im trying to figure out a problem with my alarm system. 96 Windstar LX. Key pad outside and remote both work. If I lock the doors with the lock button inside the van or with the remote or key pad it locks but the alarm goes off in about 45 seconds. If I unlock and lock the door with the key after the alarm is set it will not go off. Since the green idiot light is not flashing I take it the alarm is not set but at least the doors are locked. All my door switches are working as no interior lights are on and all the doors chime.

I just thought of something while typing this. I never checked the switch under the hood that works the light. Will check and get back.

Thanks Mike

Checked the light under the hood. No light the bulb was missing. Checked voltage when the plunger was up and had battery voltage when it was deppressed it looked like a small amount of voltage.

Re: Anti Theft Problem

Just an update on the alarm problem. Thanks to Phil1 who gave the link to Fordcds.com. I was able to diagnose the problem. The problem was the hood switch though turning off the light under the hood was not depressing it far enough to allow the alarm to be set. The cd is much better then any service manual. No problem burning to disk with dvd decrypter. Next problem the one touch down on the power window. Thanks for everyones help on this forum. http://www.fordcds.com/

Re: Anti Theft Problem

can the CD manual be run from withing the PC without burning it to disk? I don't have a burner and was wondering if the manual could be downloaded and run from withing the computer.
How big is the file after everything is set and done?

Re: Anti Theft Problem

I had to burn it to disk first and then it installed on the pc. It is a zip file about 350 mb. Last night you could download directley from the sight. Tonight you have to download with a bit torrent program. Read info on sight. I used DVD Decrypter to burn. I would guess you could install directley to the hard drive. They suggested burning a cd.
