Broken into and want to buy alarm
My car was broken into last night by them popping the passenger side windo out of the track at the top and unlocking the door. The window retracked itself after i rolled it down and then up again. But i want to buy a car alarm now. I keep nothing of value in my car and nothing was missing, still, i want these guy running if someone tries it again. What features should i look for? i have manual everything, locks, window. I just want to know if someone opens the door, the alarm will go off!! This happened in the Northern Virginia part of the dc area, for anyone who lives around me, in Burke, near fairfax. Just a warning.

Re: Broken into and want to buy alarm
Just ask around stores near you that sell them, what the cheapest one would be and it would have to go off whent he door opens or when the car is being tampered with, you could always get power locks installed with the alarm set up.

Re: Broken into and want to buy alarm
Ok if you want an alarm for a car with manual door locks then you can get that, its very basic. But like lance said if you want a better alarm which will include you having to put door lock motors in ($150) then you can do that. If you do that I recommend going with a Viper alarm.

Re: Broken into and want to buy alarm
So if the door sensor goes off when the alarm is armed and a current is running through the dome light, does that mean i have to wait until the dome light goes off before i can arm my alarm when i get out of it?
