Will this work ???
Ok i was lookin to buy a 1000w 4 channel profile amp to power my 6x9s and 5x7s ... 6x9s rms 100w max and 5x7s rms 60 max ... i found a 700 watt profile amp for cheaper and its 60 x 4 rms instead of 80 x 4 rms now .. would this be a big difference ??? or should I go with the 700 w one or should I buy the 1000w amp .. Help would be appreciated .. Thanks

your specs are confusing. "6x9 rms 100w max" ? as in 100w rms or 100w max?
anyway... profile is going to put out less than rated, so go with the "1000" watt amp.

the RMS ratings are the only ones that count ....... the difference between 60 and 80 watts RMS is ...... 10*log(80/60) = a whopping 1.25 dB (assuming everything else is the same).

hifonics should be nice for for its price. mtx is decent enough, as well, though u may pay a little more as its more mainstream.

Thanks for that suggestion ... imma purchase that amp 2morrow unless you think theres anymore better amps out there for that price ??? well i got one more question i got 2 12s in the trunk ... gettin the new speakers in and amp for it ... gettin a new battery replacement and all that but the thing is do i need a new head unit ... i got some audiobahn hu from circuitcity at the current time .. I was wonderin does it make a BIG difference ... i like turnin my system loud where every1 will be able 2 hear it .. like would the aftermarket speakers fix that ... or is that mainly the hu ?? Thanks .. and if so whats a good one i can get thats like really good out on the market right now ... Thanks a bunch

A head unit simply processes data into a signal and amplifies and sends it to your speakers. Audiobahn isn't a very good company, (they're like DUAL, all about the bling). Getting a better HU will mean cleaner signal to noise ratio, which means clearer sound quality. If you want it loud, you have to have a strong enough amplifier and capable speakers. the HU amp isn't going to cut it. Stock speakers will probably blow on you. You'll need to upgrade to better drop ins and then if you are looking for better sound quality, you'll probably want to look at another HU, like Alpine, Clarion or Eclipse.

Yea next week im gettin my polk db 6x9s and 5x7s put in ... and im guna get that amp you recommended ... but uhh that profile amp is back in stock and i can get it for 80 shipped and this phoneix gold is 140 shippped wat would be the difference and how much of difference would you be able 2 hear any idea ???... but whats the price of a good HU ??? jus for instance and do you have any site with any good ones like for what im talkin about .. clearer quality ... Thanks a lot
