Sebring JXI 1997

I need some advise.

I have 1997 Sebring JXI, i recently went a auto shop to get oil changed, until today, I was'nt aware that the oil was not really changed, my engine oil display "red" was on, and ignored that thinking its some error as I recently had oil changed.

Today my car at stop light stopped and had difficulty in starting, i noticed some whinning sound, but managed to park it safe .

Could this cause an engine damage? I am worried. Would filling oil would solve the problem.

Please advise any experienced folks here

thanks -jxI

Re: Sebring JXI 1997

YES THIS IS A PROBLEM! Any time a 'red' light comes on, you have an immediate problem. Shut the engine off ASAP to aviod engine damage or prevent further damage (as some damage may already be done). This could mean oil pressure too. Definitely be careful driving it to your nearest place to change oil and you might want to check the level to see if you have to add any oil just to safely get your car to the shop.
