yes its possible u could put a v10 in it or a lawnmower engine if u wanted too but why put a 3.1 ?? its like 140 ponies.... and do u plan on moddin that sweet ass 3.1 lol?? it would be more pratical to put in the 2.4 liter its will mount right up with little hassle and it has more ponies than the ol 3.1

I know but i am going to take the 3.1 and upgrade it to a high performance state. The only reason I'm going with the 3.1 is because i can get it for a $100 bucks. Oh one more thing what do you have in your cavalier or do you just got it looking ok.

sounds like a good idea, but what are you going to do to it?? just go with a 3.8 with a supercharger... you could get one cheap.. probably the same price as rebuilding the 3.1...

While it would be more practical to swap in a 2.4, give the 3.1 its due. Yeah, 10 less ponies, and about 30 extra lb/ft of torque. And it does it all at a much lower RPM. If maintained properly, they will take a 95-02 Z24 off the line and the 3rd gen won't catch up til around 60mph or so.
