Unhappy Re: 93 Nissan Altima Axle problems PLEASE HELP!!

Thank you for the Birthday wish!!! Well yesterday i was driving then all of a sudden the damn driver side tire area sounded like there was a spoon stuck in a garbage disposal. Then would not go into gear. Its not the tranny though! BUt i am not sure what it is!!

If the trans won't shift into first, how do you know it isn't the tranny? Did something happen to a brake pad?

Because there was no signs of the tranny going out, I also know that when i would go around a corner it sounded like the steering wheel was ticking so i just am praying it is the axle!!

The ticking very likely may be from the axle. The axle can't cause the transmission not to go into gear.

Re: 93 Nissan Altima Axle problems PLEASE HELP!!

What makes you think it's axle problem? you know if the axle boot is Torn? Is it possible it's a wheel bearing? Is it a clicking noise or a groaning noise? Maybe it's the Brakes. It could be allot of things , please try to be as descriptive as you can ,of what the car is doing . Is it when braking, Turning , Just regular driving. Does it get louder as you drive faster? All those thing are important to know so we can help you.

A torn boot will sound like a damn rattle on when you turn, Sometimes it will sound like the wheel is about to fly off. But not when your driving straight, is that roght?
