It's written on the label, but basically, it makes a car body shine.
Car modelers use it to get the same effect on a model, but when using car wax on
hobby paint, compatibility has to be experimented, before polishing, because some
brand might attack a certain kind of paint.

I'd be hesitant about going and buying a $7.00 tub of caranuba paste wax. I've tried meguiar's high tech yellow wax on a couple of models and it came out hazy. But recently I bought some "3M Finish Restorer" and it works wonders on any paint. Dab a small amount on the paint itself then get a soft, smooth cotton cloth and rub it in. Try to avoid using a circular motion since that sometimes causes the paint to rub off on that certain area. You want to rub enough that the paint starts to show on your cloth, and then wipe off the excess, and buff it in with a clean part of the cloth. You'll hear it squeak, and then it should be shiny and smooth as glass. The stuff goes for about $9.00 at Wal-Mart in the auto care section.

For those of you that like to clearcoat your paints, it helps to remove swirls and scratches that somehow get on your clearcoat.

Thanks for the tip. I had tried out 3M Rubbing Compound but didn't like it too much. Do you know if Finish Restorer removes scratches?

Yup it removes scratches. I also tried the rubbing compound but it was too abrasive to create a mirror finish.

BTW, Turtle wax rubbing/polishing compound is junk. I wouldn't even use it on a real car.

I noticed. I have a tub of it (Turtle Wax Polishing Compound), and I hardly ever use it. I was thinking of picking up either some Meguiar's Scratch-X or Hand Polish, but I think I'll pick up some Finish Restorer based on your recommendation. I already have some Meguiar's Gold Class Liquid Wax that I think works pretty good. Thanks for the review
