speakers?
when i first turn my radio on, the speakers put out great sound....after a while, all 4 speakers just suddenly cut out and put no sound what so ever out.....ill turn the radio off and wait a minute, then turn it back on and as soon as i turn the volume up, they cut out again and just quit working....any ideas would be great....

Re: speakers?
well here's the catch, it did it with my aftermarket pioneer premier cd player and it ended up blowing the fuse for the radio, i thought it was just the cd player itself, so i swapped the factory back in and its still cutting out, just not blowing the fuse any more

Re: speakers?
sounds like you have a speaker wire that's shorting out ... or a blown (shorted) speaker.

Re: speakers?
well how could all 4 be shorting out?....i could understand one shorting out or being blown, but all 4 at once like that? where would the surge come from to do that?? they're not factory....they're alpine type r.....i just think theres a short somewhere in the harness or a loose ground or something.....trial and error time i guess

Re: speakers?
Well I would think that if one shorts out it would decrease the impedance to the deck enough that it would cause the internal amplifier to quit working, because the deck would be trying to push too much current through the short due to the low impedance. I dont know for sure but that is just a guess. And no I am not just making some random guess I am an electronics major in college... Not sure why I mentioned that

Re: speakers?
Blas is on the right track ..... just one shorted speaker or speaker wire could shut the amp down due to low impedance load.
