my project thread

Some of you might have remembered the thread i made a while back about how i got ****ed on my Conquest/Starion, but ive accepted it and am moving on with the project.

Things broken/messed up

-The head was cracked in 3 places
-2 and 3 pistons had broken ringlands (check last pics)
-Motor was out of bore
-Managed to melt part of the HG
-Previous owner likes running into curbs
-The paint is messed up

Overall, its going to be a longterm project, getting it running is the first step!

The guy who had it before me didnt know what he was doing. Dont associate me with the pics of shity wiring either. he seemed to half ass things, but thats why in my hands now. It should be fun when its done.

So far, heres what ive done.

Motor

Hot tanked/Magnafluxed
bored .020 with chrome moly rings
ARP rod bolts
Polished the crank
Clevite rod and main bearings
stock rods were fine*
eliminated the balance shafts
Fully balanced the motor (not done yet, need to take down a few more parts)
New ACT xtreme pressure plate
Clutch net 'smooth lock' disk
Stress relieved Exhaust manifold
2.5" straightpipe (sounded beefy before the head cracked/motor went, cant wait to hear it now)
TEP crank vents

Head

New Spain Marnel head (non jet valve cast)
Shnieder HD springs
Rollor Rockers
Banshee monster roller cam
New valve spring seats/retainers/keepers
New valves/lifters/seats/seals
ARP head studs
Ajusa head gasket

Electronics/Misc
AEM wideband
Cyberdyne IAT
Autometer Procomp boost/oil/narrowband (the A/F narrowband was already in the car, now i have a wideband and narrow band WTF? lol)
3" GM MAFS
MAF translator (adjusting the A/F)
Recurculated 1G BOV for tuning purpose, but i have a TurboXS RFL ill put on after everythings going
Two 1000cc secondary injectors
Bosch BCFPR
Steel braided oil lines
Dr Zooms Cap/rotor with vacuum advance
Taylor 8mm wires
MSD 6AL
Blaster coil
MSD 3 step rev limiter
Removed A/C
Over-boost eliminator
Boost response kit DIY

Most of all ive been cleaning the hell out of this engine bay, i need an updated pic to show, its WAY better now.

All this powered by a big 16g@15psi. After im done with all this i think ill move on to a MPI setup and 19c or bigger turbo.

Theres probably more but i cant remember, its 2am here.

Im only 16 also, so everything probably takes me twice as long as you guys because money doesnt exactly 'flow' in at minimum wage..But, i am paying for EVERY cent in this project. I do have to give credit to my parents for helping me get through this though, its not easy to juggle my home projects, work, and school at the same time..

heres the first batch of pics..ill upload more with pics of parts ive bought and motor progress later..

Pics of Spain Marnel head (was worth every penny, and the wait to ship over!!!)

More pics

Bottom end togthor mostly, will be assembling head this week.

Re: my project thread

thats only like half of the shop. There is a whole side to it on the left where my dad has his electronics equipment, he owns and runs a company rebuilding the ECU cores out of those big machinery equipment (like boldouzers (SP?) and similar...). I just like being able to work on things out of the rain though.
