2007 Silverado 4.3 Dual Exhaust???
Is it possible to put true dual exhaust on a 2007 4.3? Would this have much of a negative effect on the little bit of performance it actually has?
Thanks |

No offense, but why bother?

Re: 2007 Silverado 4.3 Dual Exhaust???
Well I had a 2002 Sonoma w/4.3 and I put a single flowmaster turned down before rear axle on it and it sounded good, had a deep rumble at idle and kinda faded out at full throttle.... I am going to put one on my new truck and I was just wondering about dual instead of straight.

Re: 2007 Silverado 4.3 Dual Exhaust???
go for it if your looking for sound... Performance wise a 4.3 is a 4.3... Its like a trailer home, if it has wheels its not a real home. I mean no offense either but a 4.3 in a 5500 lb truck, thats a lot of mass to move

Re: 2007 Silverado 4.3 Dual Exhaust???
I totally agree about the performance, it is a 5 speed which makes the driving a little more fun.... but not much, I know the only way to get more performance is to swap in a 4.8 or another engine, but I am just looking for sound right now.
Thanks |

I have to agree with Blender.
V6's just don't sound good.

Re: 2007 Silverado 4.3 Dual Exhaust???
I had a Flowmaster 50 series on my truck when it was a V6. It sounded decent, but noticeably a V6. Now I hear the same exhaust sounds coming from other trucks and I think to myself "ha! V6"

Re: 2007 Silverado 4.3 Dual Exhaust???
I have a 40 series Flowmaster that is turned down before the rear axle and it sounds pretty good for being a 6. Its not an 8 but it doesn't get thar high pitched sound that I have heard a lot from dual exhaust. And my 6 will outrun a 4.8 so its not that bad diving one. Its not as slow as everyone thinks. My buddy was talking crap about my 6 and it Kicked his 4.8s a$$. He doesn't say much about it anymore

Why not?? The 4.3 engine is what it is...... an engine it might not be that fast but I would take it over a 4cyl anyday im not a big fan of dual exhaust on trucks(unless its a dual sweep side style) but if you want to do it go ahead
