Fuel Problems???

I have a 94 gp. 3.1 V6. It died as I was pulling out of a parking spot. Started back up and ran long enough to pull back into the parking spot. When I did get it started it would blow black smoke out of the tailpipe and run good for about a block and a half, then would die again. I changed the fuel filter prior to seeing the black smoke (I am assuming the smoke was from flooding). Any ideas where to start. I am thinking fuel injector possibly clogged. Possibly the relay that tells the injectors when to fire. Maybe Throttle positioning sensor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Fuel Problems???

Any CEL or trouble codes stored? Your problem could be from many things, IAC, ignition module, fuel pressure regulator, EGR, etc.... Does it do the same thing whether the car is started cold or after it's run a while?

Re: Fuel Problems???

It seems to be worse after the car has warmed up. As far as the codes go. I haven't been able to get it to run long enough to take anywhere and have it scanned. I am going to try and fix it myself and do not want to pay the money to have it towed if I don't have to. Is there a way to run a self diagnostics on this model? Thanks for the help.
