Question 1997 1500 350 5.7

when i start the truck, it takes a few seconds for the oil press. guage to build like it does after an oil change and while driving the needle is all over the place. anyone got any ideas?

I would remove the sending unit and install a pressure gauge. Sometimes the sending unit goes bad. It could possibly be a bad ground. Unless you veryify it with a gauge you are taking a chance buying parts.

THere is a service bulletin on those clusters doing just that.. it has to do with a ground strap in back of the cluster.. I'll see if I can dig it up
