new car stereo blows a fuse.
Hi there,
I'm new to these forums and also pretty new to the neon. I bought it a couple of months ago and decided to put a cd player in there to replace the factory radio. The problem is that after installing the cd player I have a blown fuse for the interior lights. I used the proper wiring harnesses and stuff to put the stereo in there but the damn fuse keeps blowing. I'd really like some input on this because it truly is driving me nuts. |

Did you forget the ground wire?

Re: new car stereo blows a fuse.
No, the ground wire is fine.
I installed the harness according to the instructions. Now one possible solution I can see is that the cd player has it's own (built in) fuse...15 amp, while the fuse that keeps blowing is a 10 amp. I reckon that the power drain may be too much for that. Is it possible for me to us the power leads from the cigar lighter to fuel the cd player? The cigar lighter is on a 15 amp circuit. |

Re: new car stereo blows a fuse.
Why dont you try putting a 15a fuse in there and see what happens.
