FL offroad content
I didn't take the Rodeo again, but I thought you might like to see an offroad opportunity in my part of the country...

Re: FL offroad content
You guys need some mountains.. and rocks.. and snow
How are you liking the Daytons so far? Mine did better then I expected on the last trail run. Protetype was making fun of them because I had a little trouble getting up the steep part. I had to remind him whose truck with bfg's slid off the trail, and who's truck with Daytons pulled him back onto the trail

Re: FL offroad content
Hey, believe me, Surferfletch, if I had a jeep, the Rodeo'd be stayin home on mountain adventures, sometimes this darn Rodeo is just too long for rough riding trails - there's no room for error if one wants to back up, etc.
Nice Jeep. Nice Pic's - did you cross that mud-pit? Gizmo - in regards to the BFG's, you couldn't give me a set again. I will NEVER put those tires back on any vehicle. Had a set on my Diesel when we first bought it, the tires were brand-new and cost $165/tire LT245/75 16 E rated (heavy truck), even with proper maintenance, they wore out with only 18-20k miles, wore unevenly, couldn't keep them balanced, and the worst thing about them - that diesel slid around more with them tires then the highway tires it had on it when we bought it. Final draw with those tires was when the diesel - which is a 4x4 btw - got stuck in the yard at our house, guess what pulled it out?? The 4x2 Rodeo with Yokohama Geolander's (at only $125/tire) - go figure! Needless to say, that truck was down at Discount Tire the next day, they gave me a $300 credit towards new Yoko's for the Diesel since I had been complaining for so long that I'd hated the BFG's.

Re: FL offroad content
The Daytons are great. They've done what little I've asked of them well. The price looks better and better!
I had three timid passengers who wanted me to turn back at that little hazard. There was plenty of room to skirt it to the left, but we turned and went to another part of the park which was mostly a soggy grass plain. We'll try it next time! |
