First Car! What Should I Get? $8,000 2 Door

I need some opinions from all of you...here are the restrictions...

1. Has To Be From A Dealer or something trust worthy, IE: No Auctions (So Think of Pricing Used Car Lots Would Give)
2. Safe and not to fast
3. 2 Door(My Want)
4. Has to be reliable

I was thinking of a 2000 civic..but i need opinions
