04 maxima vs. 03 bmw 330ci

i have a friend that has a 330ci. I have the 04 maxima. He claims that he will even beat the 350z. he has a bad clutch. oh by the way his is a manual and mine is an auto. i have raced him many of times before and he has never been close. so if gets his cluch do you think i will keep up or what do you think will happen. Also does anyone have any sites that will give true honest times of the two. thanks

Re: 04 maxima vs. 03 bmw 330ci

Your car should have around 210WHP, his car normally dynoes around 188WHP. Your curb weight is around 3400lbs, and his is around 3300lbs.

I doubt his 100lb advantage can offset the 30+whp difference, good clutch or not, though they usually brainwash themselves into thinking so. He doesn't hang out at bimmerforums.com a lot, does he?

i have no clue where he is getting his info from. he makes one point though is that the max does take a while to produce the max hp. i have not looke his up yet but i think the max takes 6000 rpm to get max hp.

Re: 04 maxima vs. 03 bmw 330ci

most NA cars take til that late to make max hp, but your car makes 200 ft. lbs. of tq@the wheels by 2000 rpm and peaks at around 220-230, his car peaks at about 200 ft lbs of tq@the wheels and that power doesn't come til late in his power band, like 4,000 rpm or so
my buddy has a 330 and i'll spank him all day. your friend is in denial cuz he bought an overpriced car that gets shown up by cars half its price
