I hate some people

What's happening with me? Last night I snapped again....sort of. We were at my friends apartment grilling, watching our Sam Houston Bearkats getting murdered by UT (all in good fun of course, we collected a nice $275K and had the balls to play them). I only drank 4 beers the entire time I was there (3:30-12:30).

One of his friends he met at at work a few years ago came over. A goofy guy, but didn't think anything other than that. The few hours he was there he kept making negative comments about everything. He even kept mentioning how he should have gone to A&M basically because Sam Houston was a sub-par school. He's one of those guys who has to have a comment about everything and disagree with whatever someone else says.

We're all out on the patio and I mention how Texas Tech and Sam Houston are both one in the same. It's been that way for several years, but I couldn't remember exactly how it all worked out (my cousin went to Tech and told me about it, besides my dad and other sports-freak relatives so I know I wasn't making up shit). He starts disagreeing with me, which is fine. But then my other buddy says something and the guy straight up says "I just wanted to make him look stupid."

I immediately threw my bottle in the bushes and clinched my fists and started going off on the guy. You just don't say shit like that to people you don't know, ya know? My friends and joke like that sometimes, but we're never being serious. I just snapped, I almost kicked him in the face since he was leaning forward in a chair, and I was standing up. I chose to take myself out of the situation and walked inside. I was shaking for about 10 minutes, appologized for acting like that in front of my friends fiance and her friend. Which they don't like the guy so they didn't care.

I'm just preplexed as to why I snap now. It's sort of creeping me out, because I don't want to do that on the wrong person and something worse happens than just a little fight.

Anyways, I can't stand people like him. Always negative and having to disagree with everyone.

i'm impressed you could control yourself. if i was wearing my work boots (steel toe-capped) i would've taken his jaw out.

such an asshole thing to say.

you should've questioned why he was like that, and why he has to comment on everything. put him on the spot.

Re: I hate some people

When someone you don't know tries to make you look stupid and then is gullible enough to say it in front of you and your freinds, its normal to snap back, otherwise you would be classed as a wimp for disrespecting yourself, you did the right thing in my book.

You did very well by not smashing his face in. I don't usually have that much self control. Especially if I've been drinking.

He's a dick, and dicks get beaten. Sure its not the ideal way to solve things, but sometimes it has to be done.

Yep. It's surprising that someone else hasn't already taken him out. There are people who just deserve a good beating.

The guy is clueless. I doubt anyone invites him anywhere more than once. He's certainly not someone worth getting yourself in trouble over.

Re: I hate some people

I think I refrained, mainly because it's my friends friend. I wasn't drunk. I had only 4 beers the entire time I was there.

The guy was a dork, so was the friend he brought with him.

The guy just seemed like a real unhappy dude. Doubt I'll see him again, if I do I'll just do my best to act cordial. Unless he pops off again.
