Whining sound when turning and accelerating
Hello -
I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix. I am noticing a whining sound when I turn left or right and it continues as I accelerate. It is especially loud when I first start it but I have also noticed it occasionally even after driving it a while. Checked the power steering fluid and it is full. Any ideas?

Re: Whining sound when turning and accelerating
the power steering pump fluid is low, this is a COMMON problem in the 2004 grand prixs, GM didn't put the proper amount in them from the factory and you should be able to fill it and fix the problem, if not the power steering pump may need replaced, mine did, but it was done under warranty...
