winter rims?
Hello all G6 owners,
I'm new here and am glad to be . I purchased a 2006 G6 with 16 inch rims and would like to know if it's possible to install 15 inch rims. I have a brand new set of winter tires, 205/65/R15 with 15 inch rims, my stock tires are 215/60/R16. This would save me much time and money trying to sell and then have to but new winter tires. Thanks to all of you. Magicpotion |

Drum, tir rod & rotor clearance could be a stopper.
One idea:
Buy a junked 15 " rim, hoist your car, check & measure. The go for it if all is ok. Strut clearance should be ok, You can mount a tire if you want to be sure. Steel studs are a boss idea if you buy new snow tires. Dealers are 'special". However, they make a living selling brand new stuff, N'est pas?

Re: winter rims?
Your 15in tires are 52.9mm (2.08 inch) smaller in diameter than your 16in tires. No I didn't take my measuring tape out...
Check this web site: http://www.1010tire.com/TireSizeCalc...?action=submit This is a great tool to compare tire sizes. My G6 came with 17in tires, and I used this to find 16in tires to put on my 16in rims (for winter tires). |
