HLJ parts shipping time?

I was just checking out HLJ and they stated that it can take up to 2-3 months before shipping single part runner. I was just wondering about how long did you guys wait before your shipment was shipped? And what where the shipping costs?

Thanks for any feedback.

Steve

Re: HLJ parts shipping time?

HLJ shipping times vary significantly. If the item is in stock, it takes between 10 days and seven weeks according to my experience. Sometimes the delays are caused by customs rather than by HLJ. I am talking about complete kits. Spare parts would take longer I assume.

Phew, 7 weeks, thats quite a lot time for an online shop
I don't think I would like to wait for such a long time.

Well that's the thing right now, I don't really want to buy new kits for the peices that the model monster stole from me
The peices are a little too hard for me to scrap build, I have tried but they just look like junk.. eh
A total of 3 parts from 2 kits... all smaller than the nail of my pinky...
And from what I have learned.. HLJ is the only site that provides single trees from a kit.
Talking about this I just suddenly remember the sieries "The Borrowers"... Maybe they're the model monster in disguise

I suppose that a couple months is acceptable when you want/need to be stingy.

Thanks for the replies guys,
Steve

Re: HLJ parts shipping time?

If you are looking for Tamiya parts I would rather go to the local dealer than to place an order by HLJ. Tamiya offers an excellent spare parts service. It is a bit expensive I admit, but since you are looking for tiny parts they would not cost you a fotune. I never ordered Fujimi or Hasegawa parts. Perhaps they have a similar service, who konws. Remember, some of Hasegawa rally models are produced by Revell of Germany. That means another source of spare parts. Revell of Germany never charged me for spare parts. However, since you do not pay for the parts, you cannot order whatever you wish.

Re: HLJ parts shipping time?

I have gave up using them now, Instock items took 2-3 weeks to ship or more. I think they don't have the staff to cover the orders ?

Re: HLJ parts shipping time?

Everytime I order parts it usually takes about 6 weeks to get to my doorstep. All the parts that I have ordered (some Tamiya and some Bandai) arrives no later than 6 weeks after I ordered which is ok by me.

Usually, the reason for the delay is because they tend to wait for a few orders form the same company (eg; Tamiya) before they order the parts. During that they will have to also wait for the items to arrive. That is the reason for the delay in my opinion.
