Blower Motor Replacement 98 Safari
The blower motor for my 98 Safari recently started howling.
With winter on its way, I decided that now would be a good time to replace it. For the curious, I've documented it on http://www.rotzog.blogspot.com Total cost, including taxes, was about $63.00 Cdn for the blower motor, and about 30 minutes of my time. It is a pretty easy repair, with basic tools. (7/32 socket, knife, wire cutters, and a screwdriver). |

Re: Blower Motor Replacement 98 Safari
Greetings collinemckay:
When i order the part, do I ask for a blow motor assy, or just a blower? I want to make certain that I have the correct part before tearing the unit apart. Thanks QUOTE=colinemckay]The blower motor for my 98 Safari recently started howling. With winter on its way, I decided that now would be a good time to replace it. Re: Blower Motor Replacement 98 Safari
Ask for a blower motor for your year/model.
It comes with the motor and blower fan attached. The fan was a press-on fit, not designed to come apart. Some are held on with a nut. You shouldn't have to take it apart though. BTW, you don't have to go to a dealer -- aftermarket suppliers should have what you need. In my case, I went to Carquest. It really is an easy repair -- just jump in and do it! |
