Exclamation Headlights Keep Shuting Off...HELP!

Hello Riviera expert's,

My friends 1996 Riviera's Headlights will shut off at will, then turn back on. The tail lights seem to stay on while this is happening. Can anyone tell me if this is a common problem with Riv's and where I might be starting to look for the fix? Also is there a headlight relay for this car and where might it be? The Buick dealer want's $490.00 for a new headlight dash switch ( yikes)...
Any help on this will be Appreciated Greatly...

Thanks, Dino

Re: Headlights Keep Shuting Off...HELP!

its not a problem i have heard of b4, since it is a 96 it has the 2, iirc, sensors on the dash for automatic lights at night. i would try covering them with something dark to see if they stay on. there could be a fuse in the engine bay, either by the one by the air box or the one by the passenger headlight. if not then there is a fuse box on the door panel (driver side) and a bunch of fuse boxes under the rear seat. it sounds like a loose wire in the switch. good luck
